2025 CYBERSECURITY AWARENESS MONTH REPORT – 4TH VOLTA EDITION

The CyberSecure Volta 2025 Campaign was a regional cybersecurity awareness initiative implemented by the Genius IT Foundation, in collaboration with the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) and Ho Technical University (HTU), as part of Ghana’s National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM). The campaign was guided by the theme “Building a Safe, Informed, and Accountable Digital Space” and aimed to promote responsible digital behaviour, online safety, and community engagement across the Volta Region.

Launched in June 2025, the campaign adopted a multi-stakeholder and community-focused approach, combining school outreaches, church engagements, media sensitisation, stakeholder consultations, and a flagship regional conference. Through these activities, over 1,600 participants—including students, teachers, professionals, civil servants, and members of the general public—were sensitised on critical cybersecurity issues such as online fraud, data protection, cyberbullying, digital ethics, and cybercrime prevention.

A major highlight of the campaign was the 4th Volta Edition of the National Cybersecurity Awareness Month Conference, held on 31st October 2025 at the Afeti Auditorium, Ho Technical University. The event attracted 393 participants from government institutions, academia, security agencies, civil society organisations, private sector entities, and schools. It featured keynote lectures, expert presentations, and goodwill messages that reinforced cybersecurity as both a national development priority and a shared civic responsibility.

The campaign was strengthened by strong institutional partnerships, including the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC), Ghana Education Service (GES), and multiple media houses. During the celebration, two strategic initiatives were officially launched: the CyberSecure Ghana Program, a year-round national cybersecurity education framework, and the Volta Cybersecurity Professionals Network (VCPN), a platform for mentorship, collaboration, and professional development. Additionally, 13 Cybersecurity Ambassadors were recruited to champion digital safety within their communities.

Fully funded through sponsorships and in-kind contributions amounting to ₵11,831, the campaign demonstrated effective resource mobilisation and community ownership. Post-event activities included stakeholder review meetings, submission of official reports to CSA and GES, appreciation ceremonies for partners and volunteers, and the presentation of citations to Ho Technical University and key contributors.

Overall, CyberSecure Volta 2025 marked a significant step in advancing cybersecurity awareness in the Volta Region, reinforcing the Genius IT Foundation’s leadership in digital safety education, and laying a strong foundation for sustained, year-round cybersecurity advocacy in Ghana.
