Junior Brains University is an integral innovation by Genius IT Foundation to promote STEM Education in Ghana, especially in the Volta Region.

Research has shown that we are experiencing the 4th Industrial Revolution hence a need to equip ourselves with relevant STEM Skills in taking advantage of the opportunities of the future.

According to the World Bank, by 2030, about 230 Million Jobs that will be created will directly or indirectly need good Digital Skills. Africa is the youngest continent on the planet with the youth forming majority of its population yet, only about 2% of them have adequate digital skills amongst other STEM areas to qualify to handle the kind of jobs that are emanating from our economies today.

According to a brief secondary survey conducted by Genius IT Foundation on the state of ICT infrastructure and its integration in our basic schools, there is only an average of about 3 computers in a school. This means that most of our schools in the Ho municipality alone don’t even have the infrastructure to combat ICT illiteracy.

WHY JUNIOR BRAINS UNIVERSITY CONTRIBUTORS PROGRAM?

Junior Brains University is purposed to give children a good start in the Digital Space through guided teaching and learning, helping them to become problem solvers, leaders, and entrepreneurs who will help the African Continent get out of poverty.

This program is designed to emulate the University system where students learn in stages and get qualified to be awarded certificates of completion.

Before a student is awarded a certificate from this project, the student is required to demonstrate practical skills and mastery in the field of study.

WHY THE NEED FOR CONTRIBUTORS?

There is a need to have a strong community around this project to give our children the very best of education when it comes to STEM Education.

For this reason, there is a need to bring together people from strong backgrounds who will contribute their intellect and experience to the success of the program.

This program is designed to see young people come out with innovations, building their entrepreneurial skills and abilities whiles giving them the power and tools to succeed in this changing world.

WHY BECOME A CONTRIBUTOR?

One of the best things one can achieve in life is the achievement of giving back to society. Giving can be in different forms. We believe we must develop the art of imparting knowledge so we can have our generation and generations to come become very successful through good education resulting in our ability to be creative.

Education is one of the best gifts we can give to our children hence anyone who finds him/herself giving knowledge and experience is making a generational impact.

WHO QUALIFIES TO BE A CONTRIBUTOR

To qualify to be a contributor to this project, the individual must be very interested in STEAM Education and be a lover of seeing children do well in acquiring STEAM skills.

The individual must possess professional skills in any field of endeavor that will have eighter a direct or indirect requirement of STEAM now or in the future.

The individual must also have a mindset that is sacrifice-based, interested in contributing to the future of Ghana and Africa without seeking a personal interest over this project.

The individual must also be a good team player, sharing ideas and be able to respect the profession of others.

HOW DO YOU FUNCTION AS A CONTRIBUTOR?

The foundation will come up with a process for making your intellectual submissions. The STEAM program is supposed to make a maximum impact by looking at the implementation of STEAM in all professions hence helping our children learn to be very effective users of technology.

There shall be monthly online meetings which will be a medium through which ideas will be discussed and thoughts will be expressed.

OUR ASSEMBLY

Registered Contributors shall be on one WhatsApp platform which will be a medium of effective communication. On the WhatsApp group platform, ideas will be shared and suggestions will be put across for consideration.
