On July 1, 2024, the Genius IT Foundation had the privilege of participating in the CodaBot STEM Conference 2024, held at the Institute of Social Statistical and Economic Research (ISSER) Conference Hall of the University of Ghana, Legon. The event, themed “Leveraging STEM for Problem Solving,” brought together key stakeholders, leaders, and executives from the STEM community, including the Education Minister, Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum.
Genius IT Foundation was represented by a dedicated team of six members: Desmond Kitsi, Caleb Amemasor, Esther Amedzo, Mitchel Akumani, Ophelia, and Perpetual Senalor. Our team actively engaged in the conference, contributing to the discussions and gaining valuable insights into the latest advancements and strategies in STEM education.
The Executive Director of Genius IT Foundation, Mr. Desmond Kitsi, played a significant role in the conference by asking key questions regarding the strategies for implementing STEM education in Ghana. His inquiries highlighted the importance of sustainable and inclusive STEM initiatives, ensuring that the benefits of STEM education reach all segments of society.
The conference featured notable speeches, including the keynote address by the Education Minister, who emphasized the need for increased investment in STEM education. Other highlights included a presentation by the Vice-Chancellor of Pentecost University, who discussed leveraging STEM for problem-solving and announced the commencement of the Pentecost Engineering Village project as well the Executive Leadership Team of CodaBot
Dr. Albert Kwame Mensah, the CEO of Codabot, envisions a transformative future for STEM education in Ghana. His mission centers on drastically reducing the STEM illiteracy rate by making Codabot’s cutting-edge educational resources and programs accessible to every child in the country. Under his leadership, Codabot, though foreign-owned, has established a significant presence in Ghana, driven by a commitment to inclusivity and educational equity. Dr. Mensah’s dedication to this cause is reflected in his relentless efforts to ensure that all Ghanaian children, regardless of their socioeconomic background, can benefit from high-quality STEM education. His vision is to empower the next generation with the critical thinking, problem-solving, and technological skills necessary to thrive in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
