IIPGH Launches Digital Design and Creative Coding Hub in Accra, Ghana

On Monday 3rd May 2021, the Institute of ICT Professionals Ghana (IIPGH) together with its German Partners, Tinkertoys, and Codeit launched their long-awaited Digital Design and Creative Coding Hub in Accra, Ghana. This project is a huge leap for Ghana in the attempt to introduce more of her citizens to digital skills.

Genius IT Foundation was well represented and in a remark given by the Executive Director (Mr. David Gowu – 3rd from right below) of the Institute of ICT Professionals Ghana (IIPGH), it has become very imperative that we introduce our children to these skills. Amongst these skills are computer programming also known as Coding and 3D design and printing. He said with lots of emphases that, the next generation is our children that are growing up today and the only way we can compete with the continuously changing world is by equipping our children with the skills of the future. Genius IT Foundation also had the opportunity to present two of its staff for training on how to use the Codeit and Tinkertoys online platforms.

The launch also featured the demonstration of how the 3D Printers are used in printing real-world stuff after they are being designed by the Tinkertoys’ online software.

This launch brings to the table lots of opportunities for Genius IT Foundation as we launch our Junior Brains University Project. This will enable our children here in the Volta Region to learn and compete with the world out there and also access opportunities that these digital skills have to offer.

The Executive Director of the institute Mr. David Gowu spoke with the Executive Director of Genius IT Foundation, Mr. Desmond Kitsi ( 1st from right) in expressing his interest in extending the efforts of the Institute of ICT Professionals Ghana to the Volta Region. His words were very promising and since the institute is already having a good relationship with Genius IT Foundation as a way of partnership, there is a huge hope that the region will begin to experience the happenings and also access the opportunities the digital era has to offer.
