Friday 15th October 2021 was a ceremonial day here in the Volta Regional Capital where few Institutions and organizations were licensed to fully operate as centers for the Head of State Awards by the Head of State Award Scheme.
The Head of State Award Programme is a positive challenge for both corporate and young people. It is not easy, but it is rewarding. It is a fantastic program that gives a structure for young people aged 14 – 24 to realize their ambitions and change their world. It is the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award in Ghana and a member of the International Award Foundation, the world’s leading youth achievement award that brings together practical experiences to create committed global citizens through the provision of a balanced program that challenges and equips young people with positive life skills.
EFFORTS OF GENIUS IT FOUNDATION
The efforts of Genius IT Foundation were seen to champion the course of Youth Development, focusing on how young people can thrive in today’s Tech and continuously changing world. This award scheme will help the foundation make more impact as we embark on more activities from projects designed to get the objectives of the foundation realized.
The mission of the foundation is to impact young people with ethical leadership, entrepreneurial and digital skills in driving their self-awareness and desire to effect global change. This award will bring recognition to young and thriving Ghanaians who will allow themselves to be groomed into useful tools for future use by engaging in activities in their leisure time with the foundation through our training and activities.
In the speech delivered by the special guest of honor, the Regional Minister of the Volta Region Dr. Archibald Letsa, he mentioned the importance of acquiring skills and the need for young people to take Digital Skills among other skills very important as it is a sure way to improve their future.
