His engaging lecture was in sync with Ghana’s National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, marked throughout October by the Ministry of Communications and the Cyber Security Authority.
The theme of the National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, “Promoting a Culture of Digital Safety,” formed the backbone of Desmond’s discourse. WhatsApp, being a widely used messaging platform, was a key focus of Desmond’s presentation. He provided invaluable insights into staying safe while using the app, including the activation of 2 Factor Authentication, demonstrating the process live on air for the public’s benefit.
The scourge of Mobile Money fraud in Ghana didn’t escape Desmond’s attention. He shared practical guidelines on developing personal policies to protect oneself while using these services.
Shifting gears to social media, with Facebook in particular, Desmond imparted tips on how individuals can fortify their accounts against hacking attempts, empowering users to take control of their online security.
